The 780th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron is a tactical airlift unit within the United States Air Force (USAF). This squadron, typically deployed as part of larger air expeditionary wings, carries out airlift missions in support of joint and combined military operations. The primary mission of the 780th EAS is to transport troops, equipment, and cargo via fixed-wing aircraft to various destinations. The squadron operates under the Air Mobility Command (AMC), which is responsible for global mobility strategy, policy, campaigns, resources, and readiness to employ airpower anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. As an expeditionary unit, the 780th EAS can be rapidly deployed to respond to emerging crises or to support ongoing operations. The squadron's operational aircraft include C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster III transport planes.
